Harbourfront Toronto
Queens Quay Revitalization, Bay St to Yoyo Ma Lane, 2014 – 2015
Waterfront Toronto and Eastern Construction (CM) hired us to build and install electrical works on Queen’s Quay East between Yonge Street and Yo Yo Ma Lane, as part of their Queen’s Quay Revitalization Project.
Due to the high-profile nature of this project, meticulous project management was required to complete the work within the required timeframe. Our team dedicated long hours, sometimes weekends, to keep the job moving forward.
The scope of the work included the construction of:
- TTC streetcar electrical and communications infrastructure (duct banks, pole foundations, and splicing chambers)
- 10 temporary and permanent video-detection traffic signals, with priority given to transit vehicles
- Temporary and permanent street lighting fixtures along the route
To achieve the final look, we worked collaboratively with the construction manager, engineers, and the client to ensure that every need and detail was covered.
Beacon Utility Contractors finished the job to the client’s complete satisfaction, giving the waterfront an aesthetic quality that enhances the system’s functionality.
