St. Clair Ave. West Streetcar Track Reconstruction, Road Reconstruction, and Boulevard Streetscaping, PHASE 1 (2006/2007) Deer Park
The Toronto Transit Commission (TTC) hired us to help them with the first phase of their St. Clair Ave. streetcar project. We were required to work with tight timelines, giving our construction schedule little float time.
We were required to construct a new TTC power infrastructure, new street lighting and new traffic signals associated with the reconstruction of TTC track allowance, roadway, as well as boulevard streetscaping on St Clair Ave West from Ferndale Ave. to Avenue Rd.
This high profile, politically sensitive project had a fixed service launch date of February 18, 2007. Weekly site meetings with our enthusiastic team, who had to work outdoors in the extreme cold, were keys to completing this project on schedule.
Beacon Utility Contractors satisfied all of the requirements of the project, allowing the TTC to open the streetcar service on schedule.
